Do you have plans or dreams on your “someday” list, but that someday seem to stay stuck in the distant future forever?1
If you’re anything like me, you might have these fantastic ideas, those exciting projects, or that entrepreneurial spirit, but it’s that nagging voice saying, “You’re not good enough,” or maybe “It’s not the right time,” or “It’s just a waste of time,” or the fear of looking foolish. You analyze every detail and imagine every possible outcome, and before you know it, “someday” starts feeling like “never.”
Sound familiar? đ
Whether you’re dreaming of getting fit, mastering a new craft, decluttering your home, or pursuing a whole new career path, the tough part is taking that very first step. It’s like staring at a mountain and wondering how on earth you’re going to climb it. But guess what? That first step is the steepest.
Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it.
– Oprah Winfrey
I get it. I’m my own worst critic too. I used to believe I’d never be good enough or that people would laugh if things didn’t go perfectly. I waited for the stars to align and the perfect time to arrive. I was stuck, convinced it was too late for a fresh start.
I came across an article from The Manila Survival Guide, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Waiting for the “perfect circumstances” is a trap. Here are the four reasons why:
1. đ There’s no such thing as the “perfect time” for anything. Life’s always throwing something in the way.
2. đ Saying you’re “not ready” is just an excuse. What you’re really saying is, “I’m scared.”
3. đ Embracing uncertainty and taking that leap, even when you’re not entirely ready, is how you learn and grow.
4. â° Life is short, and the best time to start anything is today. Seriously, don’t wait!
And hey, I’ve got this inspiring video from Marie Forleo that I want to share with you. It reminds me that it’s perfectly okay to be imperfect, to start small, and not be afraid of making mistakes. Just go out there and give it your all!
Cheers to your amazing journey ahead! đâ¨
